I can’t believe my last post was in May. Much has happened since then, but most important of them all is that I surpassed my $18,000 payoff goal this month!
I’ve been working nonstop with some small breaks in between. As we finish the first week fall, I can say that I am feeling pretty victorious. The last time I felt I sacrificed my entire summer in such an intentional way was when I was 22 – 14 years ago! That summer I learned a lot about how your will can push you past any limits to get to where you want to be. I was determined that summer to finished college. I had slacked the semesters prior and it wasn’t until then that I wanted so badly to graduate. I was over it, over being in school. Most of my friends wouldn’t be returning the following semester and I knew that I needed to do all I needed to get out of there too. Thankfully I had a girlfriend who was in a similar situation as I and we were able to complete our classes together. We took classes at 3 different colleges that summer in order to graduate on time. It was insanity, but WE DID IT! I did it!
That summer in many ways shaped me to be able to push through what I have pushed through these past couple months.
I worked tirelessly to pay off my debt, which really involved me not spending on silly, impulse buys and working 3 jobs. On May 1st my credit card balance was $22,064. I am happy to say that as of today, it is now $8,898.24. I won’t say that “Murphy” didn’t hit because he did on multiple occasions, but I readjusted my goals and thankfully had my emergency fund (EF) to rely on. I worked simultaneously on replenishing my EF and pay off my debt.
I still can’t believe I was able to reach my $18K payoff goal 4 months ahead of schedule. My new goal is to have my credit card completely paid off by DECEMBER 1st! It’ll be tough and more realistically I think I will shoot for the 15th.
Currently I am on finishing day 12 of 21 days of working nonstop. I am halfway done…woohoo!!
Goal for October is to pay $3,600 on my credit card!
I got this and I know you do too!
