I budget $40 per week on groceries and most weeks I use every bit of it even when I may have plenty of food in my fridge. I want to get out of the habit of spending money because I have it.
I’m practicing being a minimalist even with purchasing groceries. Is that a thing?🤔 Regardless, it’s now my thing.
Let’s see how well I’m able to do at the end of the week. I’ve only spent $3.34 this week on bananas and a bag of potatoes. I recall reading someone’s blog and they said they purchased potatoes as a staple in their shopping because there’s so much versatility in preparing them and they’re reasonably priced. They also used meat as a garnish versus a main dish. I don’t particularly have this issue since I’m a vegetarian, but I thought it was a brilliant concept. Meat can be pricey and they discovered a way to cut their food costs by eating more vegetables and starches.
I’m in this challenge 1000%, so let me explore other ways to make potatoes😬
